What Mantiks is

Mantiks is a language-learning service: it generates study material — readings, exercises, explanations, lessons, audio — around what you ask to learn, and keeps track of your progress.

Much of the content is generated by AI models at your request. It is produced for your personal study and may contain mistakes; it is not professional advice of any kind, and a generated text does not represent our views.

Your account

You need an account to use Mantiks, and you are responsible for what happens under it. Keep your sign-in method to yourself and tell us if you believe someone else has used it.

You must be at least 13 years old to use Mantiks. If the law where you live sets a higher age for agreeing to terms like these, that age applies.

Acceptable use

Use Mantiks for learning languages. In particular, do not:

• ask it to generate content that is illegal, or that harasses or harms others;
• probe, overload or disrupt the service, or access it by any means other than the apps and documented interfaces;
• resell the service or the content it generates as a service of your own;
• misrepresent generated content as the work of a person where that matters.

We meter generation per account to keep the service available for everyone. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

Content and ownership

What you type into Mantiks — topics, questions, saved words — stays yours. You give us the permission needed to process it in order to run the service, as the privacy policy describes.

You may use the study material generated for you for your own learning, including outside Mantiks. The apps, the word lists we ship, and the service itself remain ours or our licensors’.

Using Mantiks inside other services

Mantiks can be connected to third-party assistants (for example as a plugin inside a chat service). Those connections act on your Mantiks account with the permissions you grant when you connect them, and you can revoke them at any time. The third-party service’s own terms apply to the third-party service.

Price

Mantiks is currently free to use, within fair-use limits on generation. If paid plans are introduced, they will be announced and these terms updated before anything is charged.

Disclaimers and liability

Mantiks is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows. We do not promise that the service will be uninterrupted or that generated content will be accurate or suitable for a particular purpose.

To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim arising out of the service is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim — which, while Mantiks is free, is nothing. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Ending and changing

You can stop using Mantiks and delete your account at any time; the privacy policy says how deletion works. We may change or discontinue parts of the service, and we may update these terms — if a change matters, we will say so in the app or by email before it takes effect.
